For the US National Parks Service, US Geological Survey, and the National Parks Arts Foundation.
A data sonification score that converts seismic data from beneath Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park to musical parameters. The resulting piece was designed during a residency for the National Parks Arts Foundation, and has a temporal relationship of 2 hours of lived time to one measure of music, condensing three weeks of earthquakes into a 10-minute musical piece. This work explores in sound the constant activity that is changing the size and position of Hawai'i, and indeed the very face of the Earth.
