From deep in the Australian outback to 320 miles north of the Arctic Circle, Back of Beyond explores life in remote communities. Between 2015-2017, Nester interviewed dozens of people about life on the frontier in the age of technology.

Through oral histories, music, and video, this project reveals lessons about climate change, Indigenous rights, immigration, and what community means to a diverse range of people living in some of the farthest reaches of Australia and the USA.
